Activity: I FINISHED my mural!!!

Commentary: It’s done. D-O-N-E done. FINISHED! Needless to say I’m pretty happy about this, and I’m realizing that I have an extraordinary talent for finishing things last minute. Of course overall my mural has changed as my ideas for it have, and I knocked out a few of my ideas and added a few new ones, but in the end I think it looks pretty decent and at least I haven’t heard any gossiping freshman knock it yet! I’m just happy to be done, but it doesn’t really feel finished. I guess the idea hasn’t sunk in yet, and I still have a few changes I’d like to make now that I’m done, like some more details in the water (just little things like that) and I have to go over it soon with a top coat of some type so that it doesn’t chip in the long run. But still, I’m DONE!! Yay :D

Here are some final pictures I’ve taken

Monday/ March 12/ 3:45-7:30 pm

Activity: I finished the tree roots, the branches, blended more brown paint, and painted some awesome silhouettes!

Commentary: My goal for today was met much sooner than I expected It’d be, and instead of staying late I got to leave at my usual time, though I would have stayed later if I had gotten a reference image for the last couple of fish I have to paint. So tomorrow I’ll be completely done! I just have to paint a small school of blueish fish and a few clown fish because I think they’re cute :) After that everything will be finished and I’ll be all happy and wont paint another big project like that until I want to! HA! Today was kind of weird though, there’s a boy who comes and sits next to me to watch me paint.. I mean I don’t mind to much when he doesn’t talk but It’s strange that someones that interested in something like that. I even get bored while painting sometimes *cough* leaves *cough cough* so I can’t imagine why people want to sit and watch. It’s strange but I wont complain! Instead I’ll complain about the scary bug that tormented me as I painted. Seriously, it was aiming to keep me from painting! Anyways here are some pictures of what I did today!

Sunday, March 11, 1:10- 1:25 pm

Activity: I went shopping for the brown paint I was out of.

Commentary: I couldn’t find exact matches (that’s what I get for shopping at wall-mart) but I can mix them with black to make it the right shade as what I’ve been using. Anyways I’m ready to get started painting again tomorrow and Tuesday and finally finish this thing! Yay :)

Friday, March 9, 3:40- 7:05 pm

Activity: I worked on the tree roots some more.

Commentary: My goal was to finish the tree roots and black silhouettes but I ran out of brown paint. Perfect timing… I know I can finish my mural in time I just have to meet my goals, so on Monday I’m going to finish the tree roots and silhouettes, and on Tuesday I’m finishing the fish. Then it’ll be DONE! Whoo!! Haha so yah, I did get a lot of work done though, and Chris stopped by to work on becoming a pokemon master in peace while I painted. I’ts fun to have company to hang with while I paint, so maybe someday I’ll be one of those live artist exhibits in a museum or something. It’d be a nice side job anyways :)

Thursday/ March 8/ 4:45- 7:30 pm

Activity: I worked on painting more tree roots.

Commentary: So yah, pretty boring day. I’ve gotten one side of the tree roots completely finished so hopefully I can finish up the rest tomorrow! I’m excited to start the silhouettes and see how it’ll look when it’s completely done.

Wednesday/ March 7/ 4:30- 7:35 pm

Activity: I added more dots in the bubbles and then began the sadly nameless tree roots.

Commentary: So I need a few more dots, but not too many. Other than that though I wanted to start the tree roots, and came to the decision a few days ago after a couple weeks of denial that there is no practical way for me to collect relevant or deserving names to put into my mural in the tree roots, so there wont be any. It makes me slightly sad, but it turns out that it’s already hard enough to paint the roots without trying to entwine names into it. I will still add the black silhouettes and such but no names :( Oh well, I learned today that I LOVE mixing brown. It reminds me of chocolate.. I think I’m having chocolate withdraws since I gave it up for lent. I’m slowly dying and having strange urges to eat my brown paint. Oh joy.

Tuesday/ March 6/ 3:40- 7:10 pm

Activity: I finished the sting ray and an angel fish, fixed the wave, and started a mini dolphin.

Commentary: I think my artistic abilities shriveled away today once I finished the sting ray. The angel fish just did NOT go so well. That and then all of a sudden my camera stopped working so no new pictures :( I’m hopefully going to get this done completely on Saturday if the schools open, but if not I’ll just work until it’s due. It’s just Saturday I have a Military Ball too, so hopefully I don’t show up with paint still all over my arms and face! Haha it does seem like something I’d do. Oh well, that’s all for now!

Monday/ March 5/ 3:45- 7:40 pm

Activity: I continued painting my mural rather hurriedly, managing to finish the wave and the sunset…for the most part.

Commentary: I worked on the wave ending the ribbon of water today and I think I did really well considering I was working with my own imagination more than a reference image since I couldn’t find a good one. It’s weird seeing all that I can do with just my mind and a paintbrush, considering it’s a lot more than what I used to be able to do. Anyways I finished the wave, and worked on the sunset (I think I’m leaving it as is) and I started painting a manta ray in the water. Everythings getting done, now I only have fish and the tree roots. I’m kind of in shock by how much I’ve finished and how I think I’m actually going to be done by the 14th. It’s actually going to happen. I’ll be off doing a happy dance in a few so have fun looking at the new picture!

Friday/ March 2/ 4:00-6:20 pm

Activity: I added D.O.T.s to the bubbles and FINISHED THE TREE!

Commentary: OHH MY GOODNESS! The tree.. is.. DONE! Bam. Yah, that’s probably the biggest accomplishment of my life right there, sadly enough. I didn’t give up so HA! All of the capital letters are really necessary, believe me. Ok so the tree itself isn’t done because I still have tree roots and a few twigs in the leaves part to add but that doesn’t matter as much considering all of the leaves are DONE! I’m having a hard time comprehending it. Besides that though I added the few good D.O.T.s that were written on the poster. I still need more though so I’m just going to collect from my friends.

Pictures of my fabulously colorful mural as of today~

Thursday/ March 1/ 4:45-8:00 pm

Activity: I painted lots and lots of awesomely circular bubbles.

Commentary: So yah, I finished ALL of the bubbles. YEAHH!!!! I’m just glad that didn’t take as long as I expected it would. I stayed later today to make up for starting late and I’m still happy that I finished something on time for once! Yay :) No to finish all the rest…
